Celebrating 300 years

Raine's celebrated its Tercentenary on 8th May 2019 at St Paul's Cathedral.  An evensong service to celebrate our Foundation was very well attended by current and past students and teachers.  It was a bittersweet moment as a consultation by LBTH and LDBS had been started to close Raine's Foundation School.

Sermon:  The School's former chaplain, Father Brian Ralph, gave a rousing sermon in which he emphasised the importance of keeping the Raine's legacy alive (see below).

Later there was a buffet in Nelson's Chamber where a special beer was served, brewed in honour of Henry Raine

Coin:  In order to continue tradition, the Trust had a commemorative coin specially minted to celebrate this 300th anniversary which was distributed to current pupils and staff.  Many former Raineans have contacted the Trust to order a coin and we still have a supply available for a donation of £10 each, which includes the cost of UK P&P and requests should be sent to trustee@rainesschoolfoundation.com
